Please join the Cochise College Small Business Development Center and the Sierra Vista Chamber of Commerce for a FREE workshop to learn about the current and upcoming changes to Prop 206.
What is Proposition 206? In 2016, Arizona voted to approve Proposition 206, also known as the Healthy Working Families Initiative. Effective January 1, 2017, the first minimum wage increase went into effect; with additional increases scheduled through 2020.
This class will focus on the paid sick leave portion of Prop 206 that is scheduled to go into effect on July 1, 2017.
Topics include:
- New requirements in paid sick leave.
- Record keeping.
- IRS 1099 Reporting
- Regulated insurance requirements for employers.
This free event will take place on Thursday, 6/29/17, from 9am-10:30am in the Lecture Hall located at the Cochise College Downtown Center.
Presenter will be Timothy M. Medcoff. He is an AV Rated attorney who defends clients in the areas of product liability, insurance claims, and medical, labor/employment and commercial litigation. Tim has represented a broad range of employers in all facets of labor and employment law, including; defending employers in discrimination cases, wrongful discharge lawsuits, wage and hour claims, union litigation and enforcement of restrictive covenants and trade secret protections in federal and state courts and agencies.
